More than 1,500 species of sporocarp-inhabiting fungi (SCIF; that refers to growing on sporocarps of other fungi) have been described [1], but previous investigation of SCIF has suggested the existence of undescribed species [2]. SCIF itself is still poorly known: the role in ecosystem, seasonally, and their lifecycles of each species remain to be resolved. Although many SCIF species remain uncultured, a useful source of bioactive compounds was found from some species of SCIF [3].
