International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM) is asking authors to provide genome sequencing data with descriptions of novel taxa in Taxonomic Descriptions, since 2018. In this context, the World Data Center for Microorganisms (WDCM) and the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC) have initiated a project which would provide a route for authors who are not able to afford to do genome sequencing to have the strains sequenced for free.
In order to use this service, the authors should deposit the strains to be sequenced into, at least, one of culture collections cooperating with the WDCM for new type strain sequencing, and send the DNA samples to WDCM by themselves.
