\r\n**********************************************************************\r\nRIKEN BioResource Research Center - Japan Collection of Microorganisms\r\n                      JCM Mail News (2026.04.23)\r\n**********************************************************************\r\n\r\nRIKEN BioResource Research Center - Japan Collection of Microorganisms\r\n(JCM) is pleased to update you with the latest information.\r\n\r\n======= Contents =====================================================\r\n- Announcement of Revision to Distribution Fees \r\n- Newly cataloged strains (2026.03.01 - 2026.03.31)\r\n======================================================================\r\n\r\n+---------------------------------------------------------------------\r\nAnnouncement of Revision to Distribution Fees \r\n+---------------------------------------------------------------------\r\n\r\nIn response to rising labor and material costs, and in order to\r\nmaintain a sustainable bioresource distribution system, we have\r\nrevised our Distribution fees.\r\nThe revised fees will apply to requests received on or after\r\nApril 1, 2026.\r\nWe understand that this change may cause inconvenience, and we\r\nsincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.\r\n\r\nThe main changes introduced in this revision are outlined below.\r\n\r\n- Key Changes\r\n1. Revision of Distribution Fees\r\nWe are a non-profit organization supported by public funding from the\r\nJapanese government. Previously, the same fee structure was applied to\r\nboth domestic and international users. Under this revision, however,\r\nthe Distribution fees for overseas users have been reviewed and adjusted.\r\n\r\n2. Introduction of a Handling Fee\r\nA Handling fee has been newly established to cover the cost of\r\npackaging materials and administrative procedures associated with the\r\ninternational shipment of microbial strains.\r\nThe amount of the Handling fee varies depending on the resource type\r\n(Delivery category), biosafety level, and shipping method (carrier).\r\nThe Handling fee is charged per shipment. Even if multiple microbial\r\nstrains are requested, only one Handling fee will be charged if all\r\nitems can be shipped together in a single shipment.\r\nHowever, if separate shipments are required (e.g., when multiple\r\ncultured microbial strains are requested), the Handling fee will be\r\ncharged for each shipment.\r\nPlease note that, in addition to the Handling fee, actual shipping\r\ncosts (freight charges) will be billed separately for each shipment.\r\n\r\n3.
